De Wave Group Signs Orders Worth €630 million in Six Months

Genoa

De Wave, a global leader in the naval outfitting sector, has signed a total of €630 million worth of orders over the past six months with leading operators in the luxury cruise segment.

“In this context, Italy plays a leading role,” explains Riccardo Pompili, CEO of De Wave. “In fact, we will be managing works worth approximately €450 million in Italian shipyards, involving a wide range of companies across the supply chain. Moreover, as for the orders to be carried out in France, one of the two selected facilities is Italian-owned. This is further proof of how Made in Italy remains essential not only for shipbuilding, but especially for the luxury sector.”

De Wave thus confirms its position as a key player in this wave of new orders aimed at renewing the fleets of several of the major cruise companies.

Specifically, De Wave has been chosen to outfit the suites and prestigious public areas of nine newbuild vessels from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises, and Crystal Cruises — all of which will be constructed in Italian shipyards. The value of this contract is approximately €450 million.

In France, the group will carry out refitting work on the Mariner and Voyager, two large ships operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, which will be modernized by De Wave. The refits will take place in the Marseille dry docks and will last three weeks.

In terms of newbuilds in France, the Italian group has already secured significant contracts to develop the interior areas of ships for brands such as MSC and RCCL, on which it is already actively working. In the ultra-luxury segment, De Wave will outfit the suites and public areas of the Orient Express, a sailing vessel by Accor, being built at the Saint-Nazaire shipyards for a high-end clientele. The total value of the contract signed with Accor is approximately €130 million.

“De Wave thus reaffirms itself as a global leader in its sector, thanks to its ability to operate as a general contractor across all areas of accommodation: furniture, systems, and marine glazing,” Pompili continues. “With the expansion of the group’s scope through M&A operations, which have enhanced De Wave’s expertise across all its areas of activity, the company further strengthens its nature as a ‘one-stop shop’.
